Some things should look like they were found, not made.

This one began with the edge. I wanted the blessing to sit on a piece of stone that looks broken from something older — torn along the top, raw and uneven, the way a fragment looks when it's survived a long time.

The candle lighting blessing is set into the face in Hebrew, cut into the surface rather than raised from it, so the light catches it differently as the candles burn down. It stands on a round tray, with deep cylindrical holders arranged in front.

Everything is hand-poured in my Los Angeles studio in a soft natural stone look. Matte, weighty, and warm in the hand.
